“And you are a Divine being, currently suffering amnesia, having a human experience.”

I love this so much and when I was in the early stages of reconstruction after having been on staff at a church as a “Prophet” for 2 years I was asking the cosmos what I was and what I heard one day in 2021 while moving my lawn was,

“I’m a healer, a restorer of sight to the ‘blind’, I help those who can’t ‘see’, see again, in the way they were able to before they were born.”

And since then I’ve began each of my consulting sessions by explaining that I am simply going to remind them of what they forgot to help them get back to their old base line in their progression.

I think it’s valid to look at the Bible from all sorts of angles and lenses. Questions about David and Paul are good questions for fundamentalists, but from another vantage point I kinda celebrate the fact that those you would consider “low consciousness” folk who had horrible character flaws are embraced along their journey so that I know there’s room at God’s table for me too! I am relieved that Jesus stuck with Peter even as he had to say to him “Get behind me Satan” at one point, and was betrayed by him at the end of his life. THAT exemplifies love. I am a screwed up hypocrite just like Paul, but I can do my best to follow Jesus path of love too. I don’t think I could feel comfortable following a spiritual path if all those messy lives were neat and tidy. Forgive my rambling as I play a little devil’s advocate (so to speak) for all those low consciousness kin of ours.

Hi, Vicki. Great comment and thanks for adding to the conversation. You have a ton of self-awareness and you've often shared wisdom here that's stuck with me for weeks or months, so I think that's pretty high consciousness.

You bring up a great point, which is that we have to be cautious when looking at the scale of consciousness to not fall for spiritual materialism, or seeing the higher states as "good" and the lower states as "bad." One of the hallmarks of reaching the Responsibility level (5) is that we begin to understand that every stage or level is necessary and that no matter what level we do reach in this life, there is no skipping ahead. We all start at zero and we're each on our own journey.

I also think there's beauty in being able to see the progression of consciousness in the Bible, a history of roughly about 1900 years if we count from the character we know as Abraham all the way to Jesus. I have a whole post I'll write on this, but if you study Genesis closely you can see the exact levels of consciousness from Innocence to Dominance to Obedience to Ambition to Sharing to Responsibility to Love all play out between the Garden of Eden story to Joseph's rise to power in Egypt.

Thanks again for sharing your insights! Have an awesome week!

What a great question and response! Asking these questions while going deeper into Bible study is part of what led me out of evangelical Christianity. That has such a sweet irony to it.
