As for “more scientific rigor”, I doubt the kids will stand for it; imv these young people will sense the built in bias of skepticism and collapse the wave form of their own volition.

Not to mention the desire to record and measure via electronic instruments being a form of energetic violence to kids with such a high degree of sensitivity.

Just don’t do it. Marvel at the mystery of them. 😊

Hi Bodhi.

Thanks for your well thought out commentary. I haven’t finished ep 9, and haven’t gotten to 10 yet.

Here are my thoughts and what it brings up for me:

I also think the telepathy with this specific group is the hook - it’s genuinely amazing also - I certainly didn’t know! I’m autistic, late and self-diagnosed, my daughter and husband actually Dx’d. We all have varying levels of support needs in different areas but are all speakers.

I have had spiritual or mystical experiences throughout my life. So had my mom. S does my daughter. I remember clear instances when my daughter read my mind when she was a child.

20 years ago I engaged in a Clinical Psychology Masters program that studied (as part of its focus) consciousness. In that we studied telepathy - read a book by Rupert Sheldrake, studied concepts of “the field” that researchers have determined can be tapped into, learned that the mind is nonlocal, time is nonlinear…there is a wonderful book also that really shifted how I perceive how we all get to a place of understanding these concepts. It’s called “Changes Of Mind: A Holonomic Theory Of Consciousness” by Jenny Wade, who was one of our faculty/teachers.

As we develop, our consciousness - way of thinking - reaches places where we are faced with a conflict and we have to wrestle with that. We can either go back to our previous level of complexity or adjust our understanding and our consciousness becomes more complex.

What these spellers are presenting to us is the option to move into Transcendence and Unity Consciousness. And some will be able to do that. But some will not. Those who do, will also understand that they will continue to relate to the less complex consciousness levels on their level, but it won’t be vice versa.

Skeptics may be in a Conformist Consciousness level (as we all are when we drive, for example, but if it’s your primary mode you may thrive in the military..) or in an Affiliative Consciousness which is very much about love, hugs, connection - you see a lot of spiritual bypassing here. I’m simplifying it a LOT.

Point is - this podcast was exciting for me because it’s bringing so much of what I have known but not really had a chance to discuss, out into the world. And I LOVE that!

Also - I have been telepathic with others (but especially babies since I started babysitting). I would get full images of what they were thinking about in my head, and thought everyone could do that.

I “shut it down” after my dad died and a lot of trauma occurred in my adulthood, but I think it’s time to cultivate it again.

My mom has a story of how trees talked to me when I was two.

So - not only nonspeakers.

Thank you for sharing these thoughts, Dylan. I believe you're right on target. I ordered Jenny's book you recommended. Glad to have you here with us:)

I can’t wait to discuss with you! It’s quite densely written. I’ll have to look through it again to refresh - it’s been awhile but it sure was a pivotal book and class for me then. And btw - my MA in Clinical Psychology was a licensure MFT program specializing in prenatal and perinatal psychology. How our earliest experiences shape our beliefs, psychology, neurobiology, and physiology for a lifespan. And it overlaps with all of this we are discussing.

I listened to the series and loved it, and am 100% convinced that some sort of telepathy is indeed possible. However this article is well-argued and reasonable and brings up some issues that would have to be resolved in order to completely convince me: https://open.substack.com/pub/theamericansaga/p/the-telepathy-tapes-is-taking-america?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=3zgez

Hi, Guy. Have you had a chance to complete all ten episodes of the podcast? And what specifically did you find compelling about Zaid's article?

Thanks for reading and commenting!

yes I listened to all the episodes. I’m not that sceptical generally, but I think he raises some good points in that article. The double blind test has never been tried with facilitated communication, for example. And also how does the ‘osmosis’ work whereby kids can read and write without ever having been taught? I mean I can see there are possible answers for those things, but also there are reasons to be sceptical too. So it would be good to do some proper tests, and if they are genuinely telepathic it should be easy enough to prove it. And if somehow the tests never happen, then I think we can guess why.

Interesting. I wasn’t convinced because assisted spelling is controversial as the helper can write for the kid. See the film: Tell Them You Love Me.

And I think they did audio and not video because the video is less convincing.

But you’re right about the stress levels—a study found that parents of autistic kids have the stress levels of combat soldiers.

Hi, Charlotte. Thanks for your comment. While the early telepathy in the first few episodes (and assisted vs non-assisted spelling debate) was mildly interesting to me, I found all the other abilities revealed in the later episodes to be the real draw. Were you able to complete the entire series yet? Episodes 7-10 were my favorites.

Yes, I listened to the whole thing and to Scott Britton’s interview. Idk I think my main skepticism is stemming from the lack of footage released because she obviously has tons of footage. And even those shared behind the paywall are very skint. So wonder if the reason she isn’t sharing is to avoid criticism. I could be wrong though. Maybe she didn’t get the proper rights or participants want to now back out.

lol I’ve also worked in the documentary world and unfortunately a lot of filmmakers can’t be trusted 100%. They often get sucked into their own propaganda and become too close to subjects. They deeply want stories to be one way. They frequently loose objectivity. This is what I’ve seen. So I’m sure this is also contributing to my skepticism.

I am interested to learn about the books you mentioned.

And I do want all of this to be true as I have an autistic child myself- though she is quite verbal. An aspie though that term is out of vogue.

Totally makes sense. My friends just interviewed one of the other neuroscientists that was pulled in for the production and I'm curious to hear how that goes. I'll try to post that interview here when it's released. Have a great day!
